LAN Airlines informed on Thursday that Mataveri Airport on Easter Island will be closed from the 5th of March till the 9th of april, because of the paving works on the airport runway. They will cancel, during this period, 6 of the 14 flights they have during the week.  

The company informed that the flights affected will be the ones on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They asked to the passengers for comprehension and recomended to schedule with anticipation their journey to this destination and  regret any inconvenience that they may have caused.

The airline specified that the both flights to Peru (Easter Island - Lima - Easter Island) will not have cancelations since they are on Wednesday and Sunday. Flights to Tahiti will have to be reschedule to Monday and Tuesday.
